Recently, under the principle of "self-administration, self-obligation, inter-supervision, co-development", ISC organized 112 units initially signing the Public Pledge on Self-discipline For Internet to check-up their website content.

In May, 2002, ISC issued notice to those units to call on them to draw upon Criterion for Check-up. In June, 2002, the signing units began self check-up work, based on which, ISC organized four checking teams from partial units to carry out check-up work according to the Criterion for Check-up.

The stress of the work mainly focuses on three parts----website administration system, information process, intercommunion columns, links. During the check, most units abided by the Public Pledge. The checking team did not find obvious harmful information, for example, eroticism. The process got preferable effect. The units and checking team all believed that after the issue of the Public Pledge on Self-discipline, the Internet information environment got improved hugely. ISC calls for all units engaged in Internet industry and netizens unite together to improve the healthy development of domestic Internet industry.  

Besides ISC, the Internet Society of some other provinces, such as Hubei, Tianjing, Liaoning, Jiangsu, Sichuan, all developed the self-checking work.
